Charles Bonas has twenty years of experience as a tutor, teacher, and school and university consultant. He started mentoring his first successful applicant to Harvard in 1997 and tutored in the States regularly for several years. In the UK, Charles is a trained teacher with experience of teaching at several leading independent schools. He believes strongly in the qualities of US university education and, as one of the pioneers of tutoring and school placement in the 1990’s, Charles features in articles in the national press on educational issues and has lectured and debated widely about independent schooling, tutoring, and university education.
Charles still deals personally with many university placement and tutoring assignments. He also works closely with several schools and educational charities. He supports teacher training programmes such as TeachFirst, addressing the need for quality in teaching and educational disadvantage, and is a founding trustee of Foundation-K, offering full bursaries to British independent schools.
Charles was a music scholar at Harrow School before reading History at Oriel College, Oxford. He studied at the College of Law in York and the School of Education at Cardiff University. He has been a full time educationalist since 1995.
